PLASTIC RETRIEVAL EQUIPMENT - Professional Series                            BUCKEYE TRACTOR CO
MULCH & TAPE LIFTERS

Low-profile lifter sweeps

    Low-profile lifter sweeps are far
superior to slice into soil and fracture soil
above it. Pulls much easier. No bulldozing.
No tearing plastic. No over-rated gadgets.
Also available to retro-fit other brands.
We believe you'll be another completely
satisfied operator.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED

Option - Ripper points
Standard lifter sweeps can be replaced with ripper points to penetrate unusually hard ground, possibly from wheel compaction or standing water. While such conditions can be improved otherwise, ripper points can solve today's problem.
Further, the larger lifters can simply be used as a field ripper or to loosen compacted bed furrows.

"TOP 10" LIFTING POINTS
1  Like other tillage jobs, work soil at the right time for best results. Hard, dry soil makes any lifter pull harder than intended. Wet soil does not properly fracture and soil sticking to plastic is likely. Effects vary with soil type.
2  Field preparation includes mowing and possibly spraying vines and residue. Don't spray too late. Season-long weed management has many benefits.
3  35 to 60 HP should pull a lifter in "normal" conditions. Don't assume heavier equipment will do a better job.
4  Plastic mulch can tear if soil is too hard, if not driving straight or if lifter sweeps are too aggressive. We have solutions for all.

5  Concave disks turn away covering soil in front of lifter shanks. Rigid shanks allow concave disks to cut better with machine weight. Straight coulters penetrate best in heavier residue and/or harder ground.
6  Shear-bolt safety features are for unexpected obstructions. Most growers don't choose rocky fields since problems can be many with plasticulture.
7  "Spring-reset" or "spring-cushion" safety features are pricey fro the small farm. Spring-rest (sometimes erroneously labeled as "automatic-rest") has a flex-point to prevent machinery damage and does not force lifter sweeps into the ground. True "automatic reset" offers a break-out point for most consistent penetration as well as providing safety.
8  In principle, the very best retrieval job first depends on the very best plastic application and maintenance. Long before lifting time, difficulties can start with burying mulch too deep or with soil compaction from wheel traffic or standing water. If needed, make changes to simplify plastic retrieval.
9  Look to get plastic retrieval done in a fraction of the time even with an initial learning curve. Look to fully realize benefits in the second season and the equipment usually pays for itself by that time.
10  Like everything else, patiently manage plastic retrieval. Any machinery will seem lacking when trying to do the job in a hurry.
